What I do!
Training with me, you will benefit from personalised training sessions, helping you to achieve your goals. With all clients I'll conduct an initial consultation to create a programme specially tailored for you, taking into account current fitness, potential injuries, limitations and nutrition.
The training technique I specialise in is known as Functional Movement Training. Summed up in a few words, it is a method that focuses on strength and flexibility throughout the whole body, using the body's natural movements.
When joining the gym we are very often faced with a wall of treadmills, hundreds of dumbbells, static weight machines, and large rubber balls etc......it is a bit of minefield and probably sounds familiar to you? A common mistake made is to tackle these machines randomly, with the thought that they must help you get fit, strong and help you achieve your goals!
Functional Movement Training challenges this theory and actually says that in many cases exercising with machines is counter intuitive, as your body was built to move freely and not to do static chest presses or bicep curls! By ignoring whole body stability and strength training your body isn't able to work properly as a whole unit. Just 'pumping the guns' or doing tricep extensions every time you go to the gym is a recipe for disaster.
By training with me and using Functional Movement methods you will gain strength, increase flexibility, improve balance and build a strong core which is extremely important for maintaining good posture, and staying safe from injury.
Every session is fun! Whether you are in to boxing, TRX training, Vipr training, cardio, plyometrics etc (the list is endless!) you will always achieve your goals in a fun and challenging workout.
